Self Image


I believe that weight loss and weight management is only as effective as the person’s image of themselves.  Even though an overweight person really wants to lose weight, there is always a reason, big or small that explains why they do not stick to their diet, do an exercise regime or stick to healthful foods.

It turns into a vicious cycle… when this person looks in the mirror they become filled with self-loathing and a feeling of hopelessness.  Depending on the circumstance, if there is a health related issue which is being exacerbated by the excess weight, there will be a sense of desperation and the person may try and look for a quick fix, a silver bullet, a pill they can take tonight and wake up tomorrow slim and trim.

If you look at what is available on the internet, the supermarket, your health food stores you will find no end of products that promise this quick fix… this has become a billion dollar market, the rate of obesity rises in the western world by an alarming rate still, even though there is so much attention paid to what is good for you and what is not.

Back to the idea of self-image - when a person really loves the way they look, the way that clothes fit, the way they feel in the company of others, they are much more likely to do what it takes to stay in good health, especially if they have worked hard to get there.  And that is the truth of it… in order to have a trim fit body, the only way is to work at it diligently and with dedication.

There are no shortcuts that will allow long term and healthy results, sure, some of the quick fix, diets or plans may give some success in the short term but are you prepared to eat like that forever more to maintain the loss you’ve achieved?  This is the point that is missing from many of the quick weight loss plans and promises – how do you live the rest of your life?

My goal is to help you get to the starting block of your successful weight loss / maintenance… it is you and you alone that will turn any problem you have in this area around and become successful.

The subconscious mind is the powerful force which governs how you react in any given situation; it is where that inner voice (negative or positive) comes from.  It is also the source of that ‘gut feeling’ that you experience when doing or meeting something new.  A lot of us tend to override that instinct only to find in hindsight that we should have gone with our inner knowledge.

By using the deep relaxation techniques of hypnotherapy a person is allowed a reprieve from all of the negative self-talk which has perpetuated their poor health and poor body image.  It is as if you have been gifted a blissful time out.  While in this state of deep deep relaxation, we will make positive suggestions to your subconscious mind.

These suggestions are recorded by the subconscious mind and after some weeks of regular sessions, you will often find that you are more in tune with your inner knowingness, that you are intuitively making the right choices with regard to eating, exercise and your overall health.  Not only that, but you will start to really feel and acknowledge your own worth.

I am not promising a quick fix nor am I even saying that this approach will guarantee that you will lose weight, that is up to you, what I am doing is offering a hand of hope… helping you set off on your own path of healthy self-realization.
